The coolest places to hang out at ClueCon 2017
We have a slew of epic activities planned for the week but if you find yourself with any free time, check out this list of ClueCon Hotspots. Everything on this list is less than 30 minutes from the hotel.
Millennium Park music series:
Head down to Millennium park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion to catch these free concerts. Bring a picnic blanket, some sandwiches, and family and friends while you listen to the various genres of featured music.
Monday, August 7th 6:30 pm: Gaby Moreno and Centavrs
Gaby Moreno’s music is an original blend of Jazz, Blues and 1960s Rock & Soul both and feature both English and Spanish lyrics.
Centavrs is a Latin Mexican band that explores the traditional Mexican corrido genre with electronic rhythms.
Thursday, August 10th 6:30 pm : Youssou N’Dour Bassel & The Supernaturals
Youssou N’Dour has their roots in Senegalese traditional music.
Bassel & The Supernaturals combine neo-soul and funk with captivating lyrics about love, loss, and a war in Syria that has directly affected Bassel Almadani’s family along with over 10,000,000 others.
Millennium park features many other attractions to check out during the day. Take a selfie with The Chicago Bean, stroll through Lurie garden, or wade in the Crown Fountain art installation featuring 50 foot towers that project human faces.

Movies in the Park:
Millennium Park also presents free outdoor movies for everyone to enjoy. The park is only 10 minutes from the Swissotel which makes it easy to get to at any time of day. Make the most of the beautiful Chicago summer weather and spend some time outside!

Chicago is full of different bars of all shapes and sizes. Two that stood out are listed here, but if you discover any cool bars comment below and we can add them to this list!
Lizzie Mcneill’s Irish Pub

Over the river and through the woods to Lizzie Mcneill’s we go. What makes this bar special is that it is a short 10 minute walk from the Swissotel and sits on the beautiful Chicago river. This Irish pub offers a variety of delicious foods until 11:00 pm and any drink you can dream up until 2:00 am.
Emporium Arcade Bar Milwaukee Ave

Emporium Arcade Bar is the perfect hub for anyone who loves alcohol and classic video games. They have 47 different arcade games, 11 pinball machines, live music, 28 draft beers, and a full bar. Each game is a quarter to play…just like the good ol’ days.
Navy pier is a Chicago Landmark and is home to several great attractions. Build forts at the Chicago Children’s museum, listen to live music in the Miller Lite Beer Garden, watch a show at Chicago Shakespeare, witness the magic of outdoor summer ice skating, and of course, ride the giant ferris wheel! Be sure to watch the fireworks show on Wednesday, August 9th at 9:30 pm.

Art Institute of Chicago:
The Art Institute is located at the heart of Chicago and two bronze lions welcome you inside to take in all of the beautiful exhibits. This is the perfect place for a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off photoshoot, but sorry, selfie sticks are not allowed.

Lincoln Park Zoo:
This free zoo is a breathtaking and fun juxtaposition of the Chicago skyline. See hundreds of animals from around the world all taken care of by leaders in wildlife conservation. A big hit with adults and kids

The Shedd Aquarium is home to 32,000 different aquatic animals from rivers and reefs all around the world. You can purchase tickets online to avoid waiting in any lines. Pet a Sting Ray, stare at the Jellyfish, or come face to face with a shark, all from from the heart of Chicago.

You can’t fully experience the joys of Chicago without stopping for a small shopping spree. Magnificent mile features over 460 different retailers and three different vertical shopping centers. If you’re not sure where to stop first, check out Water Tower Place, home of the LEGO Store, Sephora, the American Girl Place, Coach, Lids, and many many more!

Ohio Street Beach:
Ohio Street Beach is the closest beach to the Swissotel and is fully equipped with a snack bar, restrooms, and an on duty lifeguard. Lake Michigan is beautiful during the summer, it’s impossible to resist wading in the water to cool down on a hot day.

Go on a wild boating adventure, right outside the Swissotel! Take a guided tour of the Chicago river or just rent a kayak for an hour and explore on your own. Don’t forget to wave up at those of us relaxing in the penthouse fitness center jacuzzi.

Chicago is well known for its active theatre scene. There are so many great shows going on this summer so be sure to catch one before you leave! The famous Hamilton is playing this August, as well as Comedy Sports, or free Shakespeare in the park put on by Chicago Shakespeare. This year they are doing an abridged version of Romeo & Juliet which is bound to be a great performance.
